one way rv rental las vegas
locations: moturis (one way rv rental is allowed)

The pick-up/return depots are located at Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Fort Lauderdale, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York, Orlando, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, and Seattle/Tacoma SEA.

The minimum official rental duration is 7 nights for rentals commencing 8 July 2013 – 25 August 2013 or for one-way RV rentals, otherwise the minimum is 3 nights. If you select a shorter duration than the applicable minimum, our software will compute the price based on the minimum duration.

One-way RV rental is possible between these depots. The one-way fees range from US$ 108 to US$ 541 but no one-way fee applies if the pick-up occurs November through March. The IdeaMerge online reservation software of course incorporates any such applicable fees into the total cost it quotes to you.

IMPORTANT: clients arriving on flights from overseas are not allowed to pick-up on the day their flight arrives, this constraint being imposed by the vendor's insurance company in recognition of the naturally fatigued state of such clients upon their flight arrival.

IMPORTANT: Canadian residents are not permitted by Canada to rent a motorhome in the USA to travel in Canada. A similar restriction applies to Mexican residents renting in the USA and wanting to travel in Mexico.

Shuttle transfer is available in connection with all the Moturis depots.

Shuttle transfer to a participating Moturis rental depot is offered at 7:30 am onlyexceptions are listed separately with the transfer hotel information — but it is only available from designated transfer hotels. Clients opting for shuttle transfer should book it no later than three working days prior to the transfer occasion, ideally when placing the rental booking. The shuttle is free of charge. The complimentary permitted amount of luggage the shuttle will take is in accordance with the airline regulations: two suitcases weighing no more than 50 pounds (23 kilograms) plus two pieces of hand luggage per person. Excessive luggage is the client's responsibility. …

Shuttle transfer from a participating Moturis depot to the designated transfer hotels is offered at 11:00 amexceptions being listed separately with the transfer hotel information. In connection with such transfer, please do not book return flights which depart prior to 2:00 pm. Again, the shuttle is free of charge.

The complimentary permitted amount of luggage the shuttle will take is in accordance with the airline regulations: two suitcases weighing no more than 50 pounds (23 kilograms) plus two pieces of hand luggage per person. Excessive luggage is the client's responsibility.

Note: for motorhome travel soft-sided or collapsable bags are the best sort to use.

Vehicle pick-up (or return) is not possible directly at locations other than the rental depots.

The depots are open for pick-up Monday–Saturday, 9:00 am to 10:00 am — although early pick-up is provided starting at 8:00 am for clients using the hotel shuttle transfer (see above for exceptions!) and for clients who otherwise arrive at the depot between 8:00 am and 8:30 am and who have informed Moturis of their early arrival at least three working days before. Afternoon pick-up (i.e. at the rental depot) is available Monday–Friday 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm — although at Orlando and for clients staying at the designated San Francisco downtown (alias city center) transfer hotels, such afternoon pick-up is provided on Saturdays as well, but only in connection with the Moturis shuttle transfer.

From April through September a US$ 64 surcharge applies for pick-up on Saturday or Monday. This surcharge is referred to as the "weekend" surcharge.

The depots are open for standard return Monday–Saturday, 9:00 am to 10:30 am, i.e. mornings.

A non-standard afternoon return time entails an extra night's worth of cost, and a Saturday afternoon return entails charge for Sunday night as well. The vendor imposes these standards such that most vehicles can be prepared during regular business hours and delivered to a client on the same day that the vehicle is returned by the previous client. Thus the vendor doesn't lose out on renting that vehicle for that night. A Saturday afternoon return means the vendor doesn't have time to prepare and rent the vehicle to someone else for Saturday night; and because the vendor is closed Sundays, the vendor cannot rent the vehicle Sunday night too. The IdeaMerge software accounts for non-standard return times.

Sorry but Sunday pick-up or return is not possible with Moturis.

A fee of US$ 30 per hour or US$ 300 per night applies to late return of the vehicle. The depots are closed during certain holidays, which are accounted for by our online reservation software.

Moturis provides free storage of luggage at the rental depot (but at the client's risk). Again, for motorhome travel soft-sided or collapsable bags are the best sort to use.

If you want to park a car at or near the rental depot for the duration of your rental, please contact the depot directly a day or so before your rental, this to learn whether they happen to have room. Such parking is generally at the client's risk.

A thorough explanation and demonstration of the rental vehicle will be provided upon pick-up. This orientation, together with completion of the relevant paperwork, requires approximately one hour.

Authorization is required to travel into Alaska, Yukon, and the NW Territories. This authorization costs US$ 450. No such authorization is required for travel elsewhere in Canada, although travel to the greater metropolitan areas of Montreal and Quebec City is prohibited.

The Moturis vehicles are allowed to travel into Mexico if such travel is confirmed in advance and the additional liability insurance and CDW, which together cost US$ 19 per night, is purchased. Area restrictions might apply. Clients have to provide IdeaMerge with the exact dates the vehicle will be in Mexico. When traveling in Mexico, traveler assistance is not available and any repair costs, towing or fines incurred in Mexico are the client's (i.e. customer's, traveler's, renter's) responsibility.

Each motorhome is winterized during roughly November through April or during any other stretch of space–time in which the ambient temperatures of the low-altitude regions near the depot are expected to be below the freezing point during a client's rental. Winterization means that the water is drained from the fresh water tank, hot water heater and both waste tanks. Of course this drainage involves the water pipes, toilet, sink, shower, and external shower (if this latter feature is present). Once the vehicle is winterized, no water should be put into the fresh water tank and it should not be hooked up to the public water supply. Therefore no water at all is available from the motorhome. The toilet, however, can still be used as long as windshield washer antifreeze is poured down to rinse it. Pink RV antifreeze will have been run through all the pipes and put into the black and grey tanks. If the client removes the antifreeze and puts water into the system, the tanks and pipes will likely crack. If this damage occurs, the client will be responsible for repairing these systems and any other consequent damages. If the client unwinterizes the vehicle for travel into a warner climate, it is the client's responsibility to have the vehicle re-winterized before returning it. If such client presents a receipt of winterization from a Southern RV Service Center, Moturis will reimburse the client up to a maximum of US$ 75. If, however, such client does not have such receipt, Moturis will keep the security deposit and charge the client for any costs consequent of water system damage. Of course upon the pick-up occasion the vendor can provide instruction regarding the draining and rehydration of that system.

  • New York: 11 Rockland Park Avenue (off Oak Tree Road), Tappan, NY 10983, tel. (+01) 845 365 0747. The Moturis shuttle serves the Newark, New Jersey, airport (EWR) but not the other New York metropolitan area airports. You can travel by train from New York City’s Pennsylvania Station to Newark airport on the Northeast Corridor Line or the North Jersey Coast Line: www.njtransit.com. Here’s a direct link to a useful map of that New Jersey transit system. (The metro stop physically closest to the Moturis depot is the Pearl River stop on the Pascack Valley Line.) A good resource regarding connections to/from Newark airport (again, airport code EWR; here the vendor’s shuttle can pick you up at about 11:30 am) is http://gonyc.about.com/cs/airlinesairports/a/getto_ewr.htm. There’s also www.nyctourist.com/travel_newark.htm. A good resource for information on New York City public transport is www.mta.nyc.ny.us. Regarding campgrounds, one of the best resources is www.woodalls.com/search/camp/index.cfm. There’s also www.gocampingamerica.com and http://camping.about.com/cs/campgrounds/a/newjersey.htm and http://camping.about.com/cs/campgrounds/a/newyork.htm and www.newjerseycampgrounds.com/Default.php. • Orlando: 5175 West Irlo Bronson Memorial Parkway, Kissimmee, FL 34746, tel. +1 407 396 2600. The Florida Turnpike Enterprise operates an all-electronic open road tolling system on the southern 47-mile stretch of the Turnpike, from US1 in Florida City to the Miami-Dade/Broward County line. There are the following options for payment to travel on the Turnpike:
  • Contact the SunPass Customer Service Center by calling 1-888-865-5352 or visit them online at www.SunPass.com. Their representatives will provide information on how to obtain a "SunPass" transponder during the rental period. The transponder will allow traveling on toll roads by paying money into the personal SunPass account. Customers picking up in Orlando may rent a transponder at the branch.
  • Alternatively the "TOLL-BY-PLATE" program can be used. That program captures an image of the vehicle license plate and bills the registered owner of the vehicle for the toll amount. The TOLL-BY-PLATE program allows the customer to call in to register for a TOLL-BY-PLATE account and to pay for tolls before an invoice will be issued. Payments can be made by cash, credit/debit card on-line or through payment kiosks located at major retail stores. Florida State Law (Statue 316.1001) requires payment of prescribed tolls for the usage of toll facilities. Failure to comply with this statute may result in the assessment of a US$ 100 or more civil penalty, assessment of court costs, and suspension of the vehicle registration and/or suspension of the driver's license. It will be important for the customer to inform the vendor drop-off location of the fact that they traveled on the Florida Turnpike, regardless of what option they choose. In case an invoice for toll fees will be sent to the vendor, as the registered owner of the vehicle, all charges due will be charged to the customer's credit card on file and processed according to our rental provisions with regards to traffic citations (including administrative fees).
